Abstract
922,490. Rectifying; automatic regulation. ELECTROFLO METERS CO. Ltd. Feb. 3, 1961 [Feb. 22, 1960], No. 6162/60. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). A circuit for providing a stabilized D.C. output from an A.C. supply comprises a low-leakage step-down transformer whose primary winding is in series with a resistor R, the secondary winding feeding a bridge rectifier Mr whose output is smoothed by a capacitor C and partially stabilized by a silicon reference diode Z1, a further stage of stabilization being effected by a bridge circuit of resistors R2, R3, R4, R5, wherein silicon reference diodes Z2, Z3 are included in opposite arms. To compensate the variation of zener breakdown voltage with ambient temperature changes a copper-manganin resistance combination P1, R6, R7, R8 is included, the resistance P1 being variable for presetting. An adjustable resistor P2 is included in series with the load terminals 3, 4. A neon tube may be disposed across the transformer primary winding.
