Abstract
922,159. Tractor driving gear, power take off. COMPAGNIE CONTINENTALE DE MOTOCULTURE C.C.M. July 7, 1960 [July 10, 1959], No. 23838/60. Class 79(2) [Also in Group XXIV] The driving shaft, main shaft, lay shaft and power take-off shaft of an agricultural tractor gear box are arranged as the edges of a right prism whose base is a quadrilateral of which two sides are substantially horizontal. The driving shaft 2 drives the power take-off shaft 5 through pinions 8 and 32 and the lay-shaft 3 through gears 6, 11 or 7, 12, either of the pinions 11 or 12 being selectively coupled to the shaft 3 by a dog clutch 13. The main shaft 4 is driven selectively through gears 15, 19 or 16, 21 or 17, 22 and may drive a driven shaft through either dog clutch teeth 31 on the shaft 4 or dog clutch teeth 28 on a planet carrier 27, the planets 25 of which are engaged by a sun wheel 24 on the mainshaft. An additional power take-off shaft 39 may be driven from the mainshaft 4 through bevels 35 and 36. A torque step-up device comprising gears 42, 44 and 43, 45, either of which being coupled through a mechanical synchronizing dog clutch selector 47, may be connected between the input shaft 41 and the shaft 46 coupled to the gear box driving shaft. In a modification of the latter, the synchronizing coupling comprises a pair of multi-disc clutches 48 and 49 operating in oil and engaged by a jack 52 or a jack 53, pressure oil being supplied through one or other of passages 50 and 51.
