906,179. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Oct. 14, 1960 [Nov. 6, 1959], No. 35314/60. Class 6(3). In a rake-wheel type of side-delivery rake the rakewheel diameter increases progressively from the front to the rear. The rake-wheel cranks 7-10 are of the same length so that the main frame-beam 1 is necessarily inclined from front to rear and is supported on a front caster 15 and a rear lockable-swivel wheel 16; an arched drawbar 2 extends over the rake-wheel row. The rake-wheel tines are all similar but are secured to central portions of the rake-wheels which are of different areas. In the two front wheels the central portions 29, 39 are discs but in the rear-wheels these portions comprise annuli 44, 50 supported by spokes 45, 51 from the wheel-hubs. In Fig. 3 the tines pass through castellations 58 in the rim of a hub-disc 56 and engage an annular projection 57. There is no wheel-rim, the tines being hooked into their neighbours at points 67, 68. An annular cover 63 prevents the inner ends escaping from the hub.
