A flame-holder for reheat combustion equipment of aircraft jet propulsion engines comprises a plurality of concentric rings of V- section secured to tubular members, adjacent rings being interconnected by means such that only tensile force is transmitted between rings, the means being connected to the tubular members so that the line of action of the tensile force passes through the centres of the crosssections of the tubular members. The flameholder shown comprises three rings 15, 16, 17 of V-section, each ring comprising a tubular ring 24 which forms the apex of the V and upper and lower arms 22, 23, the rings being interconnected by radial links 18, 19 and the assembly being supported from the tail-cone 14 by links 21. A clevis connector 25 is secured to the tubular ring 24 of the flameholder ring 16 and a similar connector 26 is secured to the tubular ring 24 of the flameholder ring 17. A C-shaped clevis 27 is connected to the tubular ring 24 of the flameholder ring 15. The clevis connectors 25, 27 are interconnected by links 18 which are secured thereto by means of pins 28, 29, and the connectors 26, 27 are similarly interconnected by links 19 secured thereto by pins 31, 32. A clevis connector 35 is secured to a bracket 20 which is itself secured to the tail-cone and the connector 35 is connected to the clevis connector 27 by means of links 21 which are secured thereto by means of pins 36, 37. Short baffles 33, 34 are secured to the links 18, 19 and project rearwardly and outwardly therefrom. The individual flameholder rings are free to expand and contract independently of each other by reason of their pivotal connections to each other and to the supporting structure.
