Abstract

886,201. Jet propelled aircraft. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. May 25, 1960 [June 1, 1959], No. 18579/59. Class 4. [Also in Group XXVI] A silenced jet propulsion installation comprises one or more rows of jet nozzles arranged at the outlet end of a jet pipe. The engine is arranged on the aircraft with the rows of nozzles extending vertically. The aircraft 10, Fig. 5, has two pairs of engines arranged on each side of the rear end of the fuselage. The rows 21, 22, 23 of jet nozzles of each engine are arranged in the vertical plane when the aircraft is in its normal flight attitude.
