Abstract

878,566. Gauge holders, dynamometers. JOHANSSON A.B., C. E. May 13, 1958 [May 29, 1957], No. 15353/58. Class 106 (2). A gauge block holder is provided with means for pressing the gauge blocks toward each other and means for measuring the force acting directly on the blocks in the holder. Two sets of gauge blocks 5, 6, of equal heights are held between parallel jaws 7, 8 so that these are set a fixed distance apart. The lower jaw 8 rests on fixed pads 23, 24 and a beam 9 rests on the upper jaw 7, being supported by similar pads 21, 22. The beam 9 has a flap 15 formed-in its lower edge and the pressing force is applied to the flap 15 by a screw spindle 10 threadedly engaged in the frame 2 of the holder and passing freely through an aperture 13 in the beam 9. Deflection of the flap 15 is indicated on a dial gauge 18 and is a measure of the force exerted on the gauge blocks.
