Abstract
588,560. Gauges. WORNELL, C. N. M. June 30, 1944, No. 12500. [Class 106 (ii)] A gauge comprising a sliding member 10 associated with a calibrated rule 3 is provided with an auxiliary member 17 of small cross-section also slidably associated with the member 10 and arranged parallel to the rule, whereby the depth of holes in which the rule cannot be inserted may be measured. A finger 20 by means of which the auxiliary member may be set is rotatably mounted on the upper end of the latter. Alternatively, the finger is arranged on the rule. Screws 15, 19 are provided for' clamping the sliding member to the rule and to the auxiliary member. A second sliding member 28 on the rule, and which may be clamped thereto by a screw 29, is slotted to receive an adjusting nut 31 threaded on a screw 30 which may be clamped to the first sliding member by a screw 33. Scales 27 are provided on the sliding members. The Provisional Specification describes constructions forming the subject-matter of Specification 588,559.
