Abstract

871,498. Partitions for boxes. BREHMER FOLDING BOX CO. Ltd., and THOMPSON, H. H. July 18, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 26749/56. Class 18. A partitioning element for boxes is made up from a cardboard blank, parts of which are folded to stand at right angles to its plane, parts additionally folded to stand at right angles to other folded parts and the folded part is sandwiched between other portions. In one embodiment, a blank is scored along the chain lines shown in Fig. 1, cuts being made along solid lines 1, 2. The blank is folded so that the two halves of the central part 7 stand up, with their rear faces contacting, at right angles to parts 21, 22. Parts 9 and 11, 10 and 12 are folded face to face, and then upwardly about score lines 17, 18 19 and 20 so that parts 13, 14 and 15, 16 are at right angles to the parts 21, 22. The parts 9/11 and 10/12 now extend at right angles to the parts 13, 14 and 15, 16 and shaded areas 23, 24 of the folded central part 7 are sandwiched between the parts 9/11 and 10/12, thus providing rigidity.
