852,327. Latches. REMPLOY Ltd. April 26, 1957 [April 26, 1956], No. 12859/56. Class 44. A lock comprises a spring loaded pivoted lever 8 having a hook 14 to engage in a recess in a hasp 2 and having a sharp-nosed projection 22 which co-operates with the periphery of a rotatable operating member 16 (rotatable through 360 degrees) which has a sharp-nosed projection 20 so arranged that during rotation of the operating member, it displaces the lever against the action of its spring 12 and if the operating member is released while the two projections are in contact then the lever is returned to the hasp-engaging position by its spring. As shown the hasp 2, movable into and out of a lock case 4 is retained in the case by a pair of spring loaded hook ended levers 8 which are moved apart by the member 16 to release the hasp. The member 16 is rotated by a tubular key which is engaged over a stud 24 and lugs 26.
