Abstract

860,417. Clothing for card flats. ABEELE, V. VAN DEN May 14, 1959 [May 28, 1958], No. 16544/59. Classes 120(1) and 120(3) Card clothing comprises a mounting plate 1 with rectilinear, wovilinear or undulated slots, as at 8, which receive toothed blades 2 of hardened steel and determine the spacing therebetween. As shown in Figs. 2 and 4, adjacent slots may be relatively displaced, recessed to accommodate blade heels 7, and/or bevelled, as at E-F. The plate may be of moulded, flexible plastic material (with blades embedded therein) and/or rubber and/or fabric. The plate is secured on a flat 4 by clips 5 or folded, upward extensions of the edges of the body 3, Fig. 10 (not shown). The slots may be slightly oblique in relation to the direction of work and the blades may have sections devoid of teeth 6.
