Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a scraper fitting for the cover of a carding machine with a carrier arrangement and a cover set lying thereon and fastened thereon.
A carding machine essentially consists of a rotatable drum provided with teeth or hooks and a plurality of lids provided with scratch fittings. The covers are arranged over part of the circumference of the drum so that their surfaces with the scratch fittings are directed towards the drum. The scraper fittings also consist of teeth or ticks.
During operation of the carding machine, the hooks of the rotating drum pull fibers out of a fiber wad to be fed in the region of the drum in which no lids are arranged. The fibers are guided past the cover of the carding machine by the hooks. The scratch fittings attached to the lids engage in the fiber material, so that the interaction of the drum and the lid brings about an alignment of the fibers required for the further processing of the fiber material. For this purpose, the covers can be moved along part of the circumference of the drum against the direction of rotation of the drum. Because it is only the relative movement between these parts that is important for the interaction of the drum and the cover, it is also possible to use a fixed cover system in which only the drum moves and the cover is fixed in its position.
For a uniform alignment of the fibers, it is extremely important in both embodiments that the scraper fittings have hooks or teeth with a uniform height. Scratching fittings of the type mentioned at the outset with a sufficient uniformity of the tooth or hook height are described, for example, in CH-PS 64 49 00, CH-PS 65 55 21, CH-PS 65 98 32 and GB 22 36 543 A. In the scraper fittings disclosed in these documents, the cover sets are formed from a plurality of sawtooth wire strips arranged parallel to one another and the carrier arrangement extends in one piece under the entire foot region of these sawtooth wire strips.
Such an arrangement is also specified in DE-OS 21 28 620. In the carding machine described there, a cover set formed from all-steel sections is opened a support arrangement running in one piece under the foot region of the all-steel sections is placed and pressed against the support arrangement for attachment to the cover with retaining strips engaging end areas of the all-steel sections.
Since the scraper fittings are subject to high wear during operation of a carding machine and therefore have to be replaced frequently, such a structure is economically very disadvantageous in view of the large amount of material required for the carrier arrangement.
To overcome this disadvantage, it is proposed in CH-PS 654 341 to solder or weld individual sawtooth wire strips in their base areas and to fasten the sawtooth wire strip packages thus formed directly to the lids of a carding machine without the interposition of a carrier arrangement.
A corresponding arrangement is also given in a further proposal of DE-OS 21 28 620 already mentioned above. In this case, the sawtooth wire strip packages or all-steel sections are fastened directly to the flat bar by means of the holding strips without the interposition of a carrier arrangement.
However, the production of such sawtooth wire strip packages with a satisfactory uniformity of the tooth height is very complex in terms of production technology, because it requires a large number of welding or gluing operations to be carried out with high precision. For this reason, the use of scratch fittings, as described in CH-PS 654 341, is very disadvantageous from an economic point of view.
According to a proposal described in the above-mentioned CH 65 55 21, the sawtooth wire strips forming the cover set are each provided with a recess in their foot region and a rod-shaped support is guided through these recesses to form a scraper fitting. The sawtooth wire strips are then held in position on the rod with the aid of locking parts which are also to be slipped thereon. With such a construction, the creation of the recesses in the foot areas of the individual sawtooth wire strips with extremely high precision is necessary in order to ensure a uniform tooth height of the finished scraper fitting. In addition, the rod-shaped carrier must be fitted into the recesses with a high degree of accuracy in order to prevent displacement of the sawtooth wire strips on the carrier. For this reason, the manufacture of scraper fittings according to this proposal is associated with a high level of production technology.
The object of the present invention is to provide a scratch fitting for covers of a carding machine which can be produced in a simple and economical manner and with which the carding machine can be operated reliably.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a scraper fitting of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the carrier arrangement has two components which are firmly connected to one another to form a self-supporting arrangement with the aid of the cover set.
The invention is based on the finding that, in the case of a carrier arrangement consisting of several components, the cover set itself can take on a supporting function, as a result of which the manufacture of a scraper fitting with a low material costs and avoidance of a complex production process is made possible without the disadvantage of an uneven tooth or hook height of the scraper fitting has to be accepted. In the arrangement according to the invention, the supporting function of the cover set is realized in that a connection of individual components of the arrangement supporting the set is only mediated by this.
In the scraper fitting according to the invention, the cover set can consist of cover strips provided with ticks. However, it is preferred to form the cover set from a plurality of sawtooth wire strips arranged parallel to one another. Sets of this type can be used for almost all types of fibers and moreover have increased resistance to wear.
The individual sawtooth wire strips can be attached to these components in the scratch fitting according to the invention for producing a firm connection between the individual components of the carrier arrangement by soldering or welding. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, however, the scraper fitting is formed in such a way that the sawtooth wire strips are each provided at their ends with a toothless section consisting of only one foot part. To fasten such a cover assembly to the carrier arrangement, at least one component of the carrier arrangement has a fastening strip which limits the area of this component on which the sawtooth wire strips rest, on which the toothless sections of the sawtooth wire strips abut and which overlaps them to provide a press fastening. In such a configuration, the attachment of the cover set to the carrier arrangement is effected by a simple pressing process, as a result of which the Manufacture of such a scratch fitting is further simplified.
The scraper fitting according to the invention can be attached to the lid, for example by gluing, screwing or the like. According to the invention, however, it is preferred that the individual components of the carrier arrangement and the cover assembly form a T-shaped recess which is open at the bottom. In this way, the scraper fittings can be attached by simply sliding them onto a T-shaped projection formed on the cover.

In the embodiment shown, the scraper fitting is formed from a plurality of sawtooth wire strips 1 arranged parallel to one another and from two carrier components 2, on which the sawtooth wire strips 1 rest. The sawtooth wire strips 1 have a
The carrier components 2 extruded from aluminum have inwardly directed
The present invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiment. For example, the carrier components can also be formed at least partially from plastic. Furthermore, it is possible to attach the scraper fitting according to the invention to the cover with the aid of threaded bores formed in the carrier components of the scraper fitting.
