Abstract

849,564. Lawn mowers ; mowing machines ; agricultural implements. SHAY Ltd., J. E., TAYLOR, A. N., and WARD, J. L. Aug. 29, 1958 [Sept. 17, 1957], No. 29264/57. Classes 6(1), 6(2) and 6(3). [Also in Group XXXII] A rotary blade mower has vertically adjustable wheel mountings (see Group XXXII). The frame of the mower comprises an inverted hollow box shaped member 11 having its sides thickened at 20, 21, to form brackets having bores 24 to accommodate spaced pins 25 rigid with each wheel carrier 23. The pins 25 are retained in selected respective bores 24 by a withdrawable split pin 27. By offsetting the axle 26 on the carrier 23 a further degree of adjustment is obtained by reversal of the mounting. In a modification, Figs. 3, 4, and 5 (not shown), the pins 27 are replaced by hairpinshaped members. The invention is also applicable to cultivators, and to rollers or wheels of ordinary mowers.
