Abstract

514,218. Supply and delivery arrangements for hot-water boilers. SANTON, Ltd., and SANDERS, H. C. April 30, 1938, No. 12917. [Class 64 (i)] A pressure governing valve for the inlet pipe of an electric water heater is divided into three compartments by a partition 7, 8. Water enters through the opening 10 and passes through apertures 12, 13. Valves 14, 15 are mounted on a common spindle 16 in these apertures, the end of which rests against a flexible diaphragm 17. A compression spring 18 normally presses against the diaphragm 17 to keep open the valves 14, 15. Excess pressure acts upon the diaphragm 17 to close the valves 14, 15. so that the pressure of the water passing to the heater is maintained constant.
