Abstract
833,538. Dressing grinding wheels. COMPAGNIE DES MACHINES BULL. May 22, 1957 [May 28, 1956], No. 16225/57. Class 60. A device for cooling a diamond 4 or like tool used to dress a grinding wheel 13 comprises a ring-shaped member 6 which is mounted on and around a part 5 carrying the diamond or like tool and formed with an inner groove 10 to ensure that liquid supplied from a pipe 11 flows around the end of the part 5 and on to the diamond or like tool. When used to dress the grinding wheel 13 of a surface grinder, the part 5 is mounted on a block 2 secured to the table 1 of the machine by a nut and bolt 3. The ring 6 is secured to the part 5 by a screw 12 and is formed with its lower portion in close engagement with the part 5 and its upper portion spaced from the part by radial arms 9 extending across the groove 10 and between which the liquid from the pipe 11 passes to the diamond 4.
