623,277. Centreless grinding. CHURCHILL MACHINE TOOL CO., Ltd., and LONGTHORPE. H. April 23, 1947, No. 10892. [Class 60] A centreless grinding machine has the control wheel b and workrest c mounted upon a common support g vertically adjustable relative to the grinding wheel a. Alternatively, the grinding wheel may be vertically adjustable. The support may be adjusted through a rack h and pinion i, and clamped in position by screws n. The control wheel is adjustable on a slide f, which carries the work rest and is adjustable on a slide on the support g. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of plungers or levers for adjusting the position of the support.
