Abstract

824,356. Awning type blinds. COOPE, J. T. L., and COOPE, J. W. Jan. 21, 1958 [Oct. 23, 1956], No. 32255/56. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] Relates to the mounting of supporting arms of the kind which fold in a horizontal or inclined plane into the blind-box. An arm supporting bracket 6 is hinged to a bracket 2 secured in the blind-box and which carries on anchorage bracket 7. Through registering holes 9, 10 in brackets 6, 7 is passed an eyebolt 11a carrying a spring-pressed collar 13 bearing against the anchorage bracket 7. The tension of the spring may be adjusted by an internally threaded sleeve 14. The eyebolt is anchored by bolt 17 in a bifurcated bracket 18 riveted to a block 19 on the front of bracket 6. The bolt may be made adjustable from the front in which case the head of the bolt is caused to bear against the anchorage bracket 7. The arm 1 has a forked end 24 and pivots about a bolt 25 which passes through the forked end, the eyepiece of an eye bolt 23 and threads into the horizontal arm of supporting angle bracket 20. The eyebolt 23 passes through a hole in the vertical arm of bracket 20 which lies against the front face of the arm supporting bracket 6. Angular adjustment of the bracket 20 in a vertical plane can be made by adjustment of a bolt 26 threaded into block 19 and bearing against the horizontal arm of bracket 20. This has the effect of lining up the arm 1 with the corresponding arm at the other end of the blind-box.
