Abstract

662,361. Luggage-carriers. SCHNEIDER, M. March 18, 1949, No. 7496/49. Addition to 653,768. Class 136(i) In a modification of the parent Specification in which each side holder 3 has a clip 11 extensible against a tension spring 18, at least one sleeve 16 is fitted to one of the interconnected swivelling parts 10 of the side holder 3 and is slidable over the pivot joint to keep the side holder clips in an extended position. A spring 12 enables each clip to be held in either the extended or closed position. An overflow holder 21 is fitted to the rear of the carrier frame 2 and has an arm 23 projecting beyond its pivot axis 22. A bar 24 is provided in front of the pivot axis 22 and carries a roller 25 kept out of the path of the arm 23 by a spring 26. To secure the holder 21 in an upright position the roller is forced into the path of the arm 23 which under the action of a spring 20 is held in engagement with the roller 25. The side holders 3 are attached to swivels 4 which are held in any of four different positions by the ends 8 of a spring 7 acting on the sides 9 of the swivels so that the side holders 3 may be turned through 180 degrees.
