Abstract

809,804. Brassieres &c. BERLEI (U.K.) Ltd. Sept. 23, 1957 [Sept. 24, 1956], No. 29161/56. Class 141 In a brassiere &c. wherein each breast cup 20 is connected to a shoulder strap 11 or a neck halter strap by elastic tape 25, a non-extensible strap 30 is slidably connected to the shoulder strap through a slot 26 in a slide frame 27 and its ends 24, 31 are secured to the cup at the apex and adjacent the side edge respectively. The elastic tape 25 comprises a loop passing through the slot 26, and the shoulder strap is adjustably secured through further slots 28 in the frame 27 which is made of moulded synthetic plastics. The lower portions 21 of the breast cups are non-elastic whereas the upper portions 22 may be slightly elastic. Elastic inserts 15 connect the centre front portion 12 with the side bands 13, 14.
