Abstract

785,368. Portable buildings. HAYWARD. S. Dec. 14, 1955 [Sept. 14, 1954], No. 26539/54. Class 20(1) The frame of a building comprises tubes 3, 4, 5, 7 interconnected by pins 6 fitting into the ends of the tube bores, the joint being frictionally held when the sheet metal skin is secured thereto, e.g. by tightening hook bolts 24 or by diametrical bolts, rivets or U-bolts. Such skin may be the outer skin or the inner skin. The frame comprises longitudinal tubes 3 and vertical tubes 8 to which are joined the tubular roof trusses 7-11 by specially made socket junctions 10, Fig. 3, where hook bolts 28 clamp the wall skin 23 thereto. Intermediate transverse frames 21 may be provided having cruciform socket junctions 22, Fig. 2. Swinging door frames 13 are suspended on T-junction pins which form the hinge pins. Single doors 20 or opening window frames may be similarly provided. The ridge is provided with a capping 25.
