Abstract

774,935. Resilient mountings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Jan. 19, 1956 [Feb. 16, 1955], No. 4573/55. Class 108(3). A resilient mounting comprises a tubular flanged metal member 1 adapted to be attached to a base (not shown), a frusto-conical rubber annulus 3 bonded to the member 1 and to a metal sleeve 4, a mounting block 6, and an annular metal cover plate 5 of sinuous cross section, its profile forming a trough followed by a peak, considered in a radially outward direction. In operation, the plate 5 has progressive interference with the surface of the annulus 3 as the load on the mounting block 6 is increased. The annulus 3 is shaped at 8 so as to cover the upper end of the cylindrical wall of the member 1. The mounting block 6 is provided with an upper face of moulded rubber which is grooved or serrated.
