Abstract

590,919. Resilient mountings. WRIGHT, H. CLAYTON-. Feb. 19, 1946, No. 5223/45. [Class 108 (iii)] In an anti-vibration mounting of the kind in which a rubber ring 1 has a central boss 2 connected by a web 14 to an annular flange 6 anchored between mounting plates 5, 7, the member to be supported being connected to the boss 2, flanged rings 12 are fitted to the boss and pass around its exterior on each side of its junction to the web. The plates 5, 7 are secured together by lips 10 and have annular recesses 8 which enclose the flange 6. Projections 4 on the flange 6 pass through perforations in the recesses 8 to form deflection-limiting buffers. The edge of the outer flange of each ring 12 is beaded over at 12a to form a bearing for the web portion of the ring 1 and the inner edges of the plates 5, 7 are similarly beaded for this purpose. The plates 5, 7 may be integral with any other member such as the top of a hollow casting having a flanged base. The web 15 has a conical upper surface so that the rubber is stressed in compression and tension under downward load.
