Abstract

739,828. Supports for circuit components. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Feb. 8, 1954 [Feb. 6, 1953], No. 3688/54. Class 38 (1). A printed circuit assembly is made up of panel units such as 2, 3, each carrying a portion of the circuit and being interlocked with each other by dovetail joints 5, 6. The terminal conductors such as K, L on unit 2 extend to the edges of the units and are aligned with corresponding terminals on the adjacent unit, such as B<1>, A<1> on unit 3, the connections between the terminals being made by dip-soldering. A screw and washer 8, 9 passing through a hole 10 between two units assists in maintaining the latter in alignment and the units are finally mounted between U-shaped channel members 1. Certain of the conductors correspond with holes 19 in the panels to receive legs 18 on panels such as 12 arranged at right angles to the planar panels, said legs having conductors printed thereon to form terminals. To avoid the use of the screw and washer 8, 9, the dovetail joint may be formed so that one half is recessed along its edge and the other has a projecting ridge whereby the two halves snap together (Fig. 6, not shown).
