A flexible cable comprises one or more insulated conductors enclosed in a rubber sheath which surrounds or embeds a tubular braided screen or reinforcement composed of groups of fine wires running one way and yarns, strings, cords or tapes of polyethylene terephthalate running the other way. In a multi-core cable the wires run in the same direction as the lay of the cores. Each core may be individually provided with a tubular braid or all the cores may be enclosed in a single braid. Specification 564,882 is referred to.
