[Class 36] A flexible electric cable, such as a trailing cable, has the insulation 4 enclosing the conductors protected by a screen comprising an under series 5 and an upper series 7 of helically-wound wire strands, and an intermediate wrapping 6 of glass fibres, cords formed from and twisted or woven glass fibres, or woven glass tapes separating the under and upper series of wire strands. The two series of wire strands are wound in the same direction as the conductors 2. The whole is encased in an outer rubber sheath 8. Specification 420,714 is referred to.
