708,529. Reciprocating pumps. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. Dec. 31, 1951 [Jan. 1, 1951], No. 95/51. Class 102 (1). In a reciprocating pump, the plunger 4 controls a suction port 18 in the cylinder and is actuated by an eccentric which oscillates a yoke 44 secured to a rocker arm 31 that is connected by a latch 40 to a lever 14 connected to the plunger. The latch 40 is attached to a rod 34 and has a projection 41 that engages in slots 32, 33 in the rocker and lever respectively and is retained in that position by spring pressure. The rod 34 may be rotated so that the cut-away portion 43 of the latch aligns with the slot 32 so that the lever and plunger may be actuated by the rod to prime the system supplied by the pump and at the same time permitting the eccentric to actuate the rocker. A piston 24 is fitted in the cylinder and controls the outlet port 19 and is loaded by an adjustable heavy spring 12 and a light spring 10 as described in Specification 567,644. The narrow bore delivery pipe 20 extends into a transparent bowl 28 filled with another liquid and a wire 23 is fitted to its end to form a rising drop indicator.
