Abstract

223,603. Botali, G. F., and Lebeau, M. H. Oct. 19, 1923, [Convention date]. Cam-actuated pumps; diaphragm pumps; relief devices.-A pump for petrol &c. comprises a pump chamber 3<a> provided with suction and delivery valves 11, 12 and a diaphragm 3 which is actuated by a cam 5 through a plunger 6. The delivery side has a relief valve 17 controlled by an adjustable spring 17a. A hand pump 24 may be combined with the diaphragm pump for starting purposes. It is connected by a pipe to the chamber of the main pump so that it uses the valves 11, 12 of the latter. The end of the piston rod screws into the lower end of the barrel 24 to prevent leakage when not in use.
