[Class 102(i)] The delivery of a pump operating at constant stroke is varied by means of a diaphragm b mounted in the pumping chamber a and supported by a piston c loaded by a spring f. The inward stroke of the piston is limited by a collar e engaging an adjustable stop i. In a modification, the inward stroke of the diaphragm is limited by a perforated grid in the pumping chamber and the outward stroke is limited by an adjustable stop. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the piston c is located. some distance from the diaphragm b and is connected by a pipe o, the whole space being filled with an incompressible fluid.
