Abstract

693,857. Yarn tension regulators for hand knitting. GOODMAN, N. Feb. 14, 1951 [March 25, 1950], No. 3592/51. Class 74 (ii). A yarn tension regulator for hand knitting comprises two discs 4, 5 between which the yarn is guided by guides 3 all of which are mounted on a finger ring 1. The lower disc 4 is fixed and the upper disc 5 is movable vertically on a peg 6 being normally urged towards the lower disc by a spring 7 the effect of the spring being varied by an adjustable knob 8 screw threaded on the end of the peg 6. A finger piece 2 prevents rotation of the regulator by contacting the finger adjacent to that on which the regulator is mounted. To enable the pressure between the discs to be readily retained, an arrow is provided on the knob and can be set to indicate a graduation mark on the upper disc.
