Abstract

742,895. Yarn tensioning means. MASCHINENFABRIK RUTI AKT.-GES. VORM. C. HONEGGER. May 14, 1953 [Sept. 27, 1952], No. 13575/53. Classes 120 (2) and 142 (1). A pneumatic yarn tensioning device consists of a stationary bottom friction member 3 having a movable top friction member 5 loosely mounted thereon and subjected to pneumatic pressure. In the embodiment shown, a partial vacuum is maintained in the tube 1 which vacuum can be regulated so as to vary the tensioning effect on the yarn 6 passing between the members 3 and 5. In a second embodiment the upper disc is formed with a boss and is rotatable on the bottom friction member. A pressure gauge may be incorporated in the system in order to preset and indicate the yarn tension.
