Abstract

690,003. Rotary pumps. BULLOWS & SONS, Ltd., A., and BUDZICH, T. Jan. 2, 1952 [Feb. 12, 1951], No. 3340/51. Class 110(ii) A pump of the outwardly-sliding vane type is provided with a number of discharge valves, around its working chamber, which are controlled by the pressure in the discharge region. Either part a or c may be the rotor and the vanes f may be in the rotor or the stator. In Fig. 1 a rotor a is provided with a ball valve i, between each pair of vanes f, the valve being kept closed by centrifugal force and the pressure in the delivery g. Discharge from each pumping space, between a pair of vanes, takes place through a duct h. The inlet port d may be provided with a regulating valve, responsive to the pressure in the discharge region g, the valve being gradually closed with increasing pressure in g.
