680,092. Endless tracks for vehicles. ROADLESS TRACTION, Ltd. April 23, 1951, No. 9412/51. Class 79 (i) An endless track for a vehicle comprises links pivoted to one another through resilient blocks, each link having end plates with ground engaging spuds and a bridge piece connecting the upper parts of the end plates leaving an open space between the bridge piece and the ground and the bridge piece having openings for the passage of soil, and each spud portion having a flange underlying one resilient block head between a bolt head and an end plate so as to protect the block from direct ground pressure. As shown each link, comprises the end plates 1 carrying the spuds 2 and interconnected by the bridge piece 3 which carries sprocket engaging portions 4 and the soil ejecting openings 5. Adjacent links are interconnected by pair of bolts 6 passing through holes 7 in the end plates 1. Each pair of bolts carry resilient rubber blocks 8, 9, 10, the block 9 between the end plates 1 and the blocks 8, 10 between the end plates 1 and washers 12 carried on the ends of the bolts. The blocks 8, 10 are protected from direct ground pressure by the spuds 1 having the flanges 13 which have bulges 14 protecting the bolt heads and nuts 11. The spuds have flanges on the opposite sides to the flanges 13 for protecting the block 9. Specification 395,723 is referred to.
