668,017. Travelling-wave tubes. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. April 6, 1950 [June 8, 1949], No. 8751/50. Class 39 (i). [Also in Group XL (b)] A travelling-wave amplifier utilizes a waveguide structure 7 consisting of a pair of helices wound with equal and opposite pitch and rigidly joined at cross-over points. An electron gun 6 projects an electron stream to a collector electrode 8. Input to the amplifier is through a wave-guide 9 and the amplified energy leaves through wave-guide 10.
