Abstract

653,303. Vices. WILSON. J. E. Dec. 25, 1948, No. 33347. [Class 61(ii)] In a vice having a multifaced jaw 3 rotatable about a vertical axis 4 and slidable on the bed 1 to which is fixed the other jaw 2 of the vice, the clamping screw 8 has a part cylindrical, freely rotatable headpiece 13 for engagement with the cylindrical periphery of the jaw 3 which has inset jaws or notches 10. The vertical post 4 terminates in a key guided in a slide groove on the under side of the bed 1. To enable the jaw to be retracted by the screw 8, a projection on the head 13 engages in an annular groove on the under side of the jaw Specification 588,691 is referred to.
