624,077. Dry-shavers. GOSTKOWSKI, B. H. Oct. 17, 1945, No. 27246. Convention date, Oct. 24, 1944. [Class 131] In a dry shaver comprising an external, stationary guard 19, an internal reciprocating cutter 18 and a guard 20, the toothed edges of the comb and cutter taper towards the cutting zone to form a composite razor-sharp edge and the guard is arranged relatively to the toothed edges to permit the entry of hairs into the gaps between the teeth. The cutter is urged towards the comb by a spring 24 acting through the medium of a flexible plate 27. The guard may be spaced from the composite cutting edge as at 17 or may have a toothed edge in contact therewith. In further modifications the guard may be in the form of a length of wire or of a roller spaced from the composite edge. The gaps between the teeth may be outwardly flared and the comb and cutter, at the blind ends of the gaps, may be bevelled to form a second razor edge.
