Abstract

526,172. Dry shavers. APPLEYARD, G. P. March 8, 1939, No. 7474. [Class 131] A shaving or hair cutting appliance of the kind in which a movable toothed cutter moves in contact with the surface of the skin on the top of a stationary toothed cutter has the gaps in the movable cutter wider than those of the stationary cutter. Fig. 2 shows a form in which the teeth B of the movable cutter have short bevelled edges b and decrease in thickness towards the ends which may be bevelled or rounded. The inner fixed teeth C are made' in the form of parallel bars, tapered at c', the ends of the teeth B are not continued beyond the teeth gaps c. In Fig. 3 the teeth B of the movable cutter are low cut the fixed cutter provided with a strengthening web c<SP>2</SP>. In Fig. 4 the movable cutter plate comprises a wafer blade, the teeth B of which are made rectangular with knife edges b'. Specification 753/13, [Class 131], is referred to.
