621,719. Sewing-machines. BRUTSCH, A. MULLER-, and BRUTSCH, L., (trading as BRUTSCH & CO.). Feb. 25, 1947, No. 5429. Convention date, Feb, 28, 1946. [Class 112] Lock-stitching.-In order to allow the alternative use of loop-takers having respectively open-sided and closed bobbin-case raceways, the loop-taker body is made detachable and alternative bobbin-case retaining devices are provided. In the arrangement shown, a rotary hook body 1 with open-sided race 10 has a stem 2 which enters a hollow shaft 4 and interlocks with a coupling member 6 fixed therein. The bobbin-case is prevented from rotating by a projection 13 on a pivoted arm 12 which also carries a pad 19 to hold the bobbin-case in its raceway and is secured in the position shown or an out-of-use position by a spring member 14 provided with holes to engage a pin on the side of the arm 12. When a closed-race hook is used, the arm 12 is swung clear and an arm 17, having a nose 18 to engage the retaining lugs of the bobbin-case, is swung into operative position.
