Abstract

626,900. Cycle &c. driving mechanism. MARTIN, J. L. Dec. 17, 1946, No. 37167. [Classes 136 (ii) and 136 (iii)] Driving mechanism for cycles and like vehicles comprises a saddle 1 oscillatorily pivoted to a fixed point of the vehicle by means of a supporting and guiding member 2, the saddle being linked through a connecting rod 12 to a crank shaft 14 forming part of the vehicle wheel unit and linked through another member 6 to two levers 8 having operating pedals 11. The levers 8 pivot about a shaft 10 secured to stays 51 forming part of the vehicle frame. These stays are connected at one end to the head tube 5 and at the other end to the crank shaft by means of bearings.
