[Class 135] An automatic control valve for a doubleacting pneumatic ram has an axial bore b having a reduced central portion which communicates with an exhaust port e, inlet ports i, h, at opposite ends of the valve and connected to a selector valve, outlet ports f, g, connected to opposite ends of the ram, and a shuttle valve element formed by two similar piston units c, d, having abutting stems o and valve faces m, n coacting with seatings at the ends of the central portion of the bore. The valve faces or the seatings may be rubber-faced. The control valve is actuated by the air pressure to supply compressed air to one end of the ram and to connect the other end to the exhaust port e.
