Abstract
605,933. Lamp-caps and holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 27, 1945, No. 11110/48. Convention date, June 30, 1944. Divided out of 605,875. [Class 38'(i)] Fig. 2 shows part of a tubular electric lamp for use with holders of the kind described in Specification 605,875, which carries at each end an insulating cap 3 in which is an annular groove 4 surrounding a centre post 5. At the inner end of the cap, a metal disc 7 is con. nected to an electrode within the lamp and has a plurality of fingers 8 which project through openings into the bottom of the annular groove and are bent over at 9 to form lamp contacts. A metal contact ring 10 is mounted on the outer end of the rim 6 of the cap. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the lamp tube is sealed at each end by a metal cap carrying an internal electrode and integral contact fingers projecting through openings into the annular groove and crimped into recesses in the wall thereof.
