604,251. Endless-tracks for vehicles. KEGRESSE, C. M. C. R., KEGRESSE, A. V., and JAMMES, E. Nov. 24, 1945, No. 31771. Convention date, Feb. 6, 1942. [Class 79 (i)] Adjacent shoes in an all-metal endless track are joined together by transverse flexible blades or leaf springs. The shoes are preferably V-shaped, fitting one into the other and furnished with transverse housings at the base and at the apex of the V to receive the spring blades. Fig. 3 shows two such shoes from underneath, with V-shaped ground-engaging webs 4 and transverse spring blades 7 bolted at both ends to one shoe and at its centre to the adjoining shoe. The seatings on adjacent shoes for each blade are preferably inclined slightly to one another so that when the securing bolts are tightened the blade is placed under an initial twist. Sprocket-engaging lugs 3 are provided on the upper surface of each shoe. Co-acting abutment surfaces 15, 16, Fig. 1, may be provided on adjoining shoes to prevent reverse curvature of the track.
