248,839. Roadless Traction, Ltd., and Penn, 0. S. Dec. 11, 1924. Endless - t r a c k vehicles.-Comprises an endless track in which means are provided for preventing the links from turning relatively to each other beyond a certain position, such means being so arranged that no stress due to vertical loading is carried by the joint pins connecting the links. Each link a, Figs. 1 and 3, has at one end two horizontal or substantially horizontal lugs c adapted to abut against lugs g on the next link and at the other end a lug e adapted to abut against a lug h, thus preventing the links from turning past a predetermined position, these lugs taking all vertical load off the joint pins f. Other abutments i, j on the links present them from turning through more than a predetermined angle in the other direction. Elastic buffers may be provided between the lugs c and g. The lugs c, g may interlock so as also to relieve the pins of end strain. In the construction shown in Fig. 12 lugs v, w on the links a interlock as shown. A modification is described in which three radial lugs on the end of one link interlock with threeon the next link.
