Abstract

595,918. Beam compasses. TWARDOWSKI, J. J. July 9, 1945, No. 17445. [Class 97 (iii)] Two sliders 26, 27 carrying scribers 31 are adjusted along guides 10, 11, clamped in a central block c by the oppositely threaded ends of a screw 12 rotatably mounted in the block c. One of the guide rods is calibrated to give a rough indication of the distance between the pointers. An accurate indication is provided by the indicia on a flange 24 on the screw co-operating with a line 25 on the clamp. A locking nut on the other side of the clamp C fixes the instrument at any desired setting.
