588,781. Swivel pipe joints. GASKELL & CHAMBERS, Ltd., and WEPGHTMAN, J. S. March 6, 1945, Nos. 5580 and 32182. [Class 99 (i)] A swivel pipe joint Figs. 1, 2 has a pressure ring h, forming an abutment for the union nut m, formed with protruding keys k which engage the slots d in the socket member a and thus prevent slackening of the union nut when the pipe f is rotated relatively to the pipe b. The socket member a contains the seating c, of vulcanised fibre or other suitable material, on which seats the annular seat g of the plug member e. If required the pressure ring may be held in place by the spring ring i. In a modification the pressure ring may be of a non-circular section and fit in a socket member whose counter bore is of similar section.
