Abstract

695,174. Pipe joints. CLARKE-BUILT, Ltd. Oct. 5, 1951, No. 23225/51. Class 99 (i). A butt joint comprises flanges 2 secured to the pipe ends, a T-section resilient packing ring 7 embracing the flanges and having its stem 6 between the flanges and extending so as to be flush with the pipe bore, a rigid ring 14 embracing the packing ring, and coupling members 17 which engage the ring 14 by interrupted screw-threads 18. A bead 15 on the packing ring engages a groove in the ring 14.
