Abstract

601,752. Vacuum gauges. GRANT, C. R. A. Oct. 10, 1945, No. 26515. [Class 106 (ii)] In an arrangement for rendering a vacuum gauge sensitive or insensitive, the gauge 1 has a bored stem 2 which is screw-threaded at 3 to receive a connector 5 for a rubber or other flexible tube, the connector being recessed at 7 to accommodate a valve 9 adapted to seat in the end of the stem 2, but normally urged away therefrom by a spring 14, and the adjustment of the valve relatively to the seat being effected by turning the connector 5. The head 12 of the valve is recessed at 13 so that the bore in the connector can communicate with the bore 8 in the stem 2. A packing washer 15 seated in an annular groove 16 in the stem 2 prevents leakage.
