[Class 44] A door or like fastening comprises a hollow body made from a pair of substantially similar channel-shaped parts a<1>, a<2>, a catch-piece f pivotally mounted on the body at e and adapted to co-operate with a striking-plate, a channelshaped plunger g having an end pivoted at f<1> to the catch-piece, a spring h acting on the other end of the plunger, and a rotatable cam-like member i extending transversely through the body and plunger and adapted to actuate the latter. The cam-like member is provided with a square axial hole for a spindle, and with projections i<1> which normally bear against the outer ends of slots k in the plunger and which extend through slots m in the body. A keyoperated locking-piece o, which may be provided, is mounted pivotally in the body and is adapted to engage with an upturned end of a slot q in the plunger.
