Abstract
579,161. Steam turbines. HALL, J. S., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Nov. 6, 1942, No. 15735. [Class 110 (iii)] In a steam turbine installation, having a highpressure turbine housed within the exhaust casing of a coaxial low pressure turbine, the high-pressure nozzle segments B<1>, B<2> are mounted on the inner face of a split disc TR, BR forming part of the exhaust casing and the branch piece P, outside the casing, is secured to the outer face of the same disc. The branch'has two inlet flanges P‹ and four connection pipes C<1>, C<2>, C<3>, C' for the nozzle segments. The passage of these pipes through the exhaust casing is seated by bellows devices.
