898,175. Turbine blades. PARSONS & MARINE ENGINEERING TURBINE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION. Nov. 28, 1960 [March 28, 1960], No. 10916/60. Class 110 (3). Means for interconnecting blades of turbines or like fluid flow machines comprises binding wire 2 passing through holes in the blades 1 at a common radial distance from their roots, and elements 3 of U-shaped cross-section secured to the binding wire between the blades, the ends of the elements 3 abutting adjacent blades. The binding wire 2 is threaded through the blades 1 to form two batches A and B, but is not brazed or secured directly thereto. The inner diameter of the U-shaped cross-section is slightly greater than that of the binding wire and by brazing the elements 3 to the binding wire vibration of the blades between adjacent elements 3 is prevented.
