Abstract

571,902. Smallarms ; weapons. PUCKLE, G. D. B. Aug. 27, 1943, Nos. 21932 (divided out of 559,146) and 21189. [Class 119] A pivoted dagger or knife-blade 68 is housed in a channel formed between the side-cheeks 62 of a fitting which is attached to the frame 33 of a pistol or revolver. As shown, the fitting is fixed by two screws 72, 73, but it may be attached by one screw and by rearwardlyextending spring sides, projections on which are sprung into the open sides of the butt 35 in place of the usual side-plates shown. The front edges 63 of the channel-shaped housing 62 are of knuckle-duster formation. The fitting has a fingers-opening 64 into which projects the end 78 of a spring-pressed detent lever 75 which holds the blade in either the housed or the operative position. If the fitting covers the magazine finger-piece 81, a spring plunger 82 is mounted in the fitting so as to bear on the finger-piece and eject the magazine when the usual catch is released. The plunger may be operated by a slide 83 in the opening 64.
