560,294. Ensilage cutters. FAIRMILE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and CULL, W. Aug. 7, 1942, No. 11036. [Class 5 (i)] [Also in Group XXX] Feed mechanism for an ensilage cutter comprises upper and lower conveyers between which the ensilage passes to the cutter, the upper conveyer 1 being mounted upon a pair of positively driven rollers 2,. 3 which, in order to cope with irregularities in quantity or quality of the material being fed, are freely movable respectively relatively to the lower conveyer in vertical and horizontal guides 4, 7 and which are connected by a link 6 to ensure that as the roller 2 moves vertically the roller 3 moves horizontally. For tensioning purposes the link 6 may be positively adjustable lengthwise or may embody a spring and plunger 8, 9.
